Teresa Rose, M.S., was inspired by the birth of her children to study communication and nonviolence and to improve the quality of relationships in her own life and in the lives of others. She’s practiced Nonviolent Communication (NVC) for the last 20 years. She’s a graduate of the Bay Area NVC “Mediate Your Life” program and serves as an assistant trainer. Teresa works as a mediator consultant for the San Mateo Union High School District and as a mediator in the San Mateo County Small Claims Court volunteer mediator program. She is also certified as an integral life coach with New Ventures West where she’s led NVC graduate programs.
Teresa believes that it is possible for individuals and relationships to be resilient, that greater connectedness happens with honest expression, that truthfulness contributes to healthfulness, and that self-awareness and self-compassion open us to our own inner wisdom.
Teresa’s background as a credentialed teacher grounds the workshops she leads. To name a few, she’s led workshops on Parent/Teen Communication, for teens at Stanford University, for high school students at Galileo High School, and at weekend intensives at her home.
One of Teresa’s most precious “accomplishments” is being mother to her three amazing adult children, ages 18 to 28. She celebrates the path her life has taken in the pursuit of parenting where curiosity, compassion, connection, and authenticity are the highest values.
